age Against the Machine's music has proven to be relevant now, decades after it was released - politically charged band’s 1992 self-titled debut is back at No. 174 on the Billboard 200 chart, Forbes reports. The debut LP features the classic 'Killing in the Name', which was written in the wake of Rodney King’s beating at the hands of the LAPD and the subsequent riots that followed. In addition to that, all three of RATM’s original studio albums - the 1992 debut, 1996’s 'Evil Empire', and 1999’s 'The Battle of Los Angeles' - climbed to the Top 30 of Apple Music’s Rock Albums chart.

Rage Against the Machine have postponed the first leg of their upcoming reunion tour (March 26 - May 20) due to concerns over the coronavirus; they plan to start playing May 23rd. Billie Eilish has postponed her March US dates - the postponement arrives after Live Nation and AEG, two of the world’s biggest concert promoters, decided to halt all large-scale tours until April due to the pandemic. Canadian Juno Awards have cancelled all 2020 programming. After New York State has banned gatherings of 500 people or more due to the coronavirus pandemic, some NYC venues are temporarily closing their doors, and postponing events. JamFest in Atlanta on April 5, with Taylor Swift headlining, has been cancelled. All events related to this year's LA Pride have been postponed, although it takes place in three months from now, in June. Also, there's American bands having trouble going home from the EU since the US have posed travel restrictions. But, not everything has been cancelled - Kendrick Lamar has been added as Glastonbury headliner, Tool still plan to play the US this March (just one show cancelled so far), mewithoutYou have just announced their farewell tour...

Rage Against the Machine have stopped approximately 85% of ticket scalping with the release of the not-quite-as-overpriced official charity tickets. A part of their plan to combat ticket scalpers is setting aside a tenth of the tickets at each venue of their upcoming tour to “resell” themselves at a higher price, but still less than what scalpers are charging. The band then gives that extra money to charity rather than lining the pockets of ticket resellers. According to Tom Morello's tweets, RATM raised over $3 million raised for charity in the first couple of days

Rage Against the Machine fighting the ticket scalpers

The reunited Rage Against the Machine have announced that they’re doing what they can to keep scalpers and broker sites from ripping their fans over tickets for their reunion tour. RATM say that "at many concerts, up to 50% of the seating is scooped up by scalpers and then resold to fans at much higher fees" (some tickets were already being sold for $400), so they decided to do "everything we can to protect 90% of the RATM tickets from scalpers”, adding "WE are holding in reserve 10% of the seating (random seats throughout each venue) to sell at a higher ticket price (but low enough to undercut the scalpers)”. They will be donating “100% OF THE MONEY over the fees and base ticket price to charities and activist organizations IN EACH CITY”, and they also plan to donate the profits from their first three concerts to immigrants’ rights organizations.

Rage Against The Machine have announced a full itinerary of 2020 reunion tour Public Service Announcement - the first shows of the tour will take place in America-Mexico border towns, and proceeds from those shows will go toward immigrant rights organizations. The tour starts at the end of March and runs all the way through November, from North America fo Europe. Run The Jewels will be opening the tour on most of the dates.

Rage Against The Machine are to reunite next year, and they have announced a series of dates for 2020, including weekends on Coachella, and a few dates in South-West USA; Forbes is guessing it has something to do with American presidential elections. RATM haven't played together since their 2011 L.A. Rising show at the Los […]
