Master Peace: A lot of rap music just sounds the same and everything is watered down

“It’s basically McDonald’s music – created quickly for a quick buck, but there’s nothing really going on at a deeper level and it doesn’t make your hairs stand up. I want to be the opposite of that” - UK rapper Master Peace tells NME about today's hip-hop, and he really is different. Take his rapping over 'Take On Me', a cheese pop-song by A-ha (below), or his almost-indie rock ballad 'Night Time', as he explains - "One minute, I might sing an indie love song or some surfer rock and then it might transition into chaotic punk and hood raps". And yes, don't call him a rapper, he's a "rock star".
