Author of bay-area metal scene documentary: I wanted to tell the human side of it

'Murder in the Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story' is a "story about the fans and the musicians" the author Adam Dubin says in a All Music interview. "I tried to treat them equally, because there was a time when everybody, from James Hetfield on down, was just an 18-year-old kid playing this music and being involved in this scene" he kindly says.
