A new supergroup: Love Fame Tragedy - members of the Wombats, Pixies, Alt-J, and Pearl Jam

Matthew Murphy of the Wombats gathered a new collective, Love Fame Tragedy, with his famous friends - Joey Santiago of the Pixies, Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain, and Gus Unger-Hamilton of Alt-J - and made an EP 'I Don't Want to Play the Victim, But I'm Really Good at It', last year. This year they have a new single 'My Cheating Heart', and Murphy sat down with PopMatters to name his five biggest influences on it: David Bowie ("he would always champion an artist by putting themselves in a difficult, new, and/or weird position in order to create their best work"), Pulp ("an art to saying something really serious in a humorous way"), Weezer, Florence + The Machine ("reminded me of the benefits of surrounding yourself by immensely talented musicians"), and The Weeknd ("brutal and cutting lyrics") .
