Festival news: Woodstock 50 without money, Tarnival with too much snow

Former Woodstock 50 backers Dentsu Inc. pulled financial support from the festival back last month, and founder Michael Lang now alleges that the former investors “illegally swept approximately $17 million from the festival bank account.” Also, he alleges the Japanese company blocked ticket sales, advised talent to back out of lineup for potential slots in 2020 Summer Olympics, Rolling Stone reports. Woodstock 50’s lineup includes JAY-Z, the Killers, Dead & Company, Chance the Rapper, Miley Cyrus, the Raconteurs, and more. In other festival news, in France about 30 people at a French rave had to be treated for hypothermia after it unexpectedly snowed, and temperatures dropped to -3C (27F). The festival was unauthorised, and that the French military - which owns the site - lodged an official complaint afterwards, BBC reports.
