Janelle Monae performed her anthemic song 'Turntables' on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show. She wrote the song for the documentary 'All In: The Fight for Democracy', starring Stacey Abrams, and in this rendition, it came out as soul Rage Against The Machine.

Awesome and cool Chicks on Colbert

The Chicks appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform their new protest song 'March, March', from their new album 'Gaslighter'. Texan group also spoke with Colbert about how they decided to lose "Dixie" from their name.

The Flaming Lips performed on Stephen Colbert’s 'Late Show' last night, playing 'Race For The Prize' from their 1999 album 'The Soft Bulletin', while every member of the band and everybody in the audience was inside giant inflatable bubbles, a staple from the group’s live shows.

Jay-Z has published full-page ads in numerous US newspapers honouring tragic Black Lives Matter icon George Floyd, CNN reports. The ad quotes Martin Luther King's 1965 speech to protesters in Selma, Alabama: "A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right... So we’re going to stand up amid horses... We’re going to stand up right here, amid the billy-clubs... We’re going to stand up amid tear gas!". In similar news, The Weeknd has donated $500,000 to a number of organisations that are committed to racial equality, Variety reports. Killer Mike appeared on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' talking about the same issue, suggesting to white people to "send financial help to some of the organizations... on the ground. Then get your butt down there and help those organizations in the physical" (watch that video here). Speaking broadly about the problem, he added - "what I need white America to do beyond right now is understand that right now is always. It isn't just helping in the now -- it is being a part of fixing it always".

Stephen Colbert shared a previously-unreleased performance video of folk singer John Prine, who is recovering from COVID-19 infection. Colbert introduced the four-year-old duet saying - “I’d like to share with you right now one of the happiest moments I’ve had on my show or any show. And that’s when John and I sung a duet in 2016 that we never broadcast, but we’d like to now. Happy enchilada, John". In a prophetic opener to their performance, Colbert said to his audience - “We’ll probably do this for the Internet. Unless, you know, something terrible happens and we have to cheer up the world on the TV show”.

Michael Stipe was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he talked about his new photography book 'Out Interference Times', and how he felt the need to create art again, inspired by the eco-activists, so he made two new solo songs - 'Your Capricious Soul' and 'Drive to the Ocean'. He also described an occasion from late 90s when he told Donald Trump to "shut up" at a Patti Smith concert because he was talking too loud.

Late-night host Stephen Colbert made a joke about the new James Bond theme song that Billie Eilish had recorded (the movie will be out in April, the song is expected at about the same time). Colbert made a spoof-song based on Eilish's 'Bad Guy' video, witch lyrics - "James Bond/ You are a super spy/ Movie/ It's called 'No Time to Die'/ Get drunk, have sex and shoot a gun/ Being James Bond sounds fun/ He's a Bond guy... duh". A green-haired Eilish doppleganger whisper-sang in the spoof while bopping through scenes of artfully fired guns and men in suits, all while in a yellow sweatsuit similar to the one worn by the 18-year-old star in the original video.

The Weeknd performed his new song 'Heartless' on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, while wandering the elaborately lit, mysteriously shifting halls of the Ed Sullivan Theater. The video starts, also unusually, with Colbert wondering away trying to find the singer, and finishes with the Weeknd appearing in front of the audience. Later […]

Singer Karen O and producer Danger Mouse last week unveiled their collaborative album 'Lux Prima', and on monday they served as musical guests on 'Late Show with Stephen Colbert'. But it wasn't just another on-stage performance, they got a hand from director Spike Jonze who made a highly stylized video of their second single 'Woman'. […]
