Joey Jordison was a founding member of Slipknot in 1995, played the drums on the band's five first albums, staying until his departure in December 2013. He later revealed that he suffered from transverse myelitis, a neurological disease that limited his the ability to play the drums. Not only was he one of metal’s premier drummers, he was a key songwriter in the group, responsible for co-writing some of Slipknot’s best-known songs, Blabbermouth reports.

11-year-old phenomenon Nandi Bushell ripped through a drum cover of Slipknot’s 'Duality', attracting the attention of Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg who tweeted “You’re the best, Nandi!!”. Bushell masters the intense double-kick pedal and controlled chaos of the song’s drum part, Consequence emphasizes. Bushell even sports a mask of Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson to look appropriately spooky as she plays along.

A recent study showed how different types of music - metal, classical, pop and hip-hop - affect drivers, with the results suggesting that metal could push motorists to the extremes (they tried with Slipknot's '(sic)'). Classical music was no better - it relaxes the driver to the point of sleepiness (it was Bach). Meanwhile, pop […]
