That is equivalent to 217,300 sales - the highest since Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You' in January 2017, UK Official Charts reports. In the album chart, Coldplay's 'Music of the Spheres' became the fastest-selling record of the year so far, with 101,000 chart sales, Charts reports.

Cardi B's major-label debut single 'Bodak Yellow' has been certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, meaning it has moved 10 million units, Complex reports. The New York native is the first female rapper to achieve a diamond single award. One equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams.

Billboard made a list of the 50 biggest love songs of all time, based on their chart position. It's mostly ballads, and the earliest entry on the list is 1958's 'To Know Him Is to Love Him' by the Teddy Bears. It seems love isn't really much of a thing lately - the newest entry on this list is 2011's 'We Found Love' by Rihanna.

Olivia Rodrigo holds to the top of the UK Official Singles chart with 117,000 chart sales of her hit single 'Drivers Licence', some three times higher than her closest rival, Anne-Marie, KSI and Digital Farm Animals' 'Don’t Play'. The hit single clocks up 13.7 million streams, the biggest one-week figure for a Number 1 single in two years. the Official Charts reports. Also making waves is Longest Johns’ sea shanty 'Wellerman' which rides into the chart at No. 37 following enormous viral success on TikTok.

Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' tops the singles chart for the first time

Wham!'s festive song 'Last Christmas' has topped the UK singles chart for the first time, 36 years after it was first released, the Official Charts reports. The Christmas classic was streamed 9.2 million times over the last week, knocking LadBaby's 'Don't Stop Me Eating' off the top spot. The song was first released in December 1984, it has returned to the top 10 a further six times, and now holds a new chart record - for the longest time taken for a single to reach number one.

Husband-and-wife duo LadBaby topped the UK 2020 Official Christmas Number 1 with their latest song 'Don’t Stop Me Eatin’'. The single scored 158,000, the biggest opening week for a single this year. Money raised from the single goes to foodbank charity The Trussell Trust. LadBaby now match a record jointly held by The Beatles and Spice Girls, the only other acts who can lay claim to a trio of consecutive Christmas Number 1s.

The song notched up 10.8 million streams over the last seven days – the most streams in a week by any song in 2020 so far.

Chris Cornell's posthumously released cover of the Guns N’ Roses classic 'Patience' has just reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, making it the first time for a Cornell solo song to reach No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock tally, which tracks radio airplay across the United States. Cornell’s take on the GN’R ballad was released by his family on July 20th, in commemoration of what would have been the late rocker’s 56th birthday, Billboard reports. With Soundgarden, Cornell earned six No. 1 singles on the Mainstream Rock chart from 1994 through 2013. He also scored two chart-toppers with Audioslave.
