Ozzy Osbourne to quit touring due to poor health

Ozzy Osbourne has announced on social media that he is retiring from touring due to declining health. The 74-year-old Black Sabbath singer was due to embark on a tour of the UK and Europe later this year, but has “come to the realisation that I’m not physically capable … as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.” Osbourne is looking into “ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country”.

The Birmingham bedroom that Black Sabbath's Ozzy Osbourne spent his childhood in is now available to rent for a night. Speaking in a GQ interview, Osbourne said the person currently occupying his pre-fame family home is charging people to sleep in his old room - “He charges £400 a night. The fucking house weren’t worth £300! They must be doing an expensive extension on the bathroom”.

Beastie Boys, Ozzy Osbourne and Nine Inch Nails have cancelled their appearance at South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival 2020 in Austin, Texas due to coronavirus concerns, Kerrang reports. They were set to participate in the festival’s film section. The artists join major companies such as Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Studios, TikTok, Mashable and Intel, that have pulled out of SXSW due to health concerns. SXSW will screen employees and volunteers for signs of illness before they are cleared to work at the festival, and add handwashing stations and hand sanitizer throughout. SXSW begins officially on March 16.

"I thought it was the drugs and the alcohol that made it all work" - Ozzy Osbourne told about his recording career, as Rolling Stone reports. "But it's not true. All I was doing for years is self-medicating 'cause I didn't like the way I felt. But then this ['Ordinary Man'] is the first album I've co-wrote and recorded fucking completely sober". He says he likes having a clear head - - "Cause at least I can remember the fucking thing I did yesterday". In an earlier NME interview, he said he "now rates his greatest achievement as simply 'staying alive'".

Funny: Jason Momoa stars as Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne offered his fans a trailer before releasing his new album 'Ordinary Man', with Prince of Darkness being played by the prince of Hawaii - Jason Momoa. In the minute-long clip, a cape-laden figure shows up, heads to the stage or boxing ring, where (way younger and prettier Ozzy) Momoa pops up, stands at the mic and lets it rip (well, lets it lip-sync). Osbourne's album is out today, this video counts as funny/charming marketing.

“Geezer’s [Butler] a great, great lyricist. [And as a bassist], nobody can touch him. Bill [Ward], in his day, was a great drummer. Tony [Iommi], he’s always gonna be the greatest, no one can touch him" - Ozzy Osbourne spoke about his career on Rick Rubin’s Broken Record podcast. “People will say to me, ‘Why did you always sing on the side of the stage?’ I don’t fucking know. I don’t know", Osbourne said. "It’s just fear, I suppose. ‘Cause Tony, he’s one of the few people who could walk into this room right now and I would fucking feel intimidated. He intimidates the fuck out of me — and he knows it”.

PETA explained that when cats are declawed, their claws and part of their toes are amputated.

"These two iconic, legendary English fucking rockers that have been through it all are singing about the end of their lives — 'I don't wanna die an ordinary man' — it's fucking great" - Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith said about Ozzy Osbourne's new song 'Ordinary Man'. Elton John plays the piano and sings on it, Slash plays the guitar. Smith plays the drums on the whole album.

"I previously had said to Sharon I should be doing an album, but in the back of my mind I was going ‘I haven’t got the fucking strength…’ but Andrew [Watt, producer and guitarst] pulled it out of me... I put my heart and soul into this album” - Ozzy Osbourne said about 'Ordinary Man', […]
