Jon Batiste leads Grammy nominations with 11 nods

Multi-genre performer and Oscar winner Jon Batiste scored the most Grammy nominations with 11 nods, including album of the year nod for 'We Are' along with record of the year with 'Freedom'. His nominations span several genres including R&B, jazz, American roots music, classical and music video. Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. each came away with eight nominations, whereas Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo both had seven nods. The Weeknd nabbed three nominations although the pop star claimed he would not allow his label to submit his music. Check out the nominees in all the categories here.

Madonna held a secret ‘Madame X’ gig in New York on Friday night and ended it by taking the show to the streets of Harlem. Madonna told W Magazine that she “wanted to pay homage to Harlem with an intimate performance. Harlem is the birthplace of James Baldwin, my eternal muse and a great source of inspiration for my film ['Madame X']” she added. Madonna performed at the club with a band led by Jon Batiste and a quartet of backing vocalists, before leading the group and audience out onto the street and down one block of 126th Street while singing ‘Like A Prayer’ through a megaphone. The parade ended in front of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Jon Batiste win best Original score award at the Oscars last night for their work on the beautiful animated feature film 'Soul'. In the Best original song category, H.E.R. took home the trophy for 'Fight for You' from the feature film 'Judas and the Black Messiah'. 'Sound of Metal' won Film editing, and Sound. Reznor, Ross and Batiste win at BAFTAs

Jon Batiste, Trent Reznor, and Atticus Ross won the Original score award at this year BAFTAs, for their work on the animated movie 'Soul', the Variety reports. Music movie 'Sound of Metal', about a metal drummer who goes deaf, has won the Editing and the Sound awards.
