Posthumous covers album by Chris Cornell comes out

Guns N' Roses' 'Patience', John Lennon's 'Watching the Wheels' and Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' are some of the songs covered by Chris Cornell on an album surprise-released today, Seattle Times reports. 'No One Sings Like You Anymore' is Cornell's “last fully completed studio album”, and it also includes Ghostland Observatory (with 'Sad Sad City') Harry Nilsson ('Jump Into The Fire'), Carl Hall ('You Don't Know Nothing About Love') Electric Light Orchestra ('Showdown'), Terry Reid ('To Be Treated Rite'), Lorraine Ellison ('Stay With Me Baby'), and Janis Joplin ('Get It While You Can').

Chris Cornell's posthumously released cover of the Guns N’ Roses classic 'Patience' has just reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, making it the first time for a Cornell solo song to reach No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock tally, which tracks radio airplay across the United States. Cornell’s take on the GN’R ballad was released by his family on July 20th, in commemoration of what would have been the late rocker’s 56th birthday, Billboard reports. With Soundgarden, Cornell earned six No. 1 singles on the Mainstream Rock chart from 1994 through 2013. He also scored two chart-toppers with Audioslave.

The new series will take place on Instagram and will feature interviews with mental health professionals, public figures and other notable guests.

A pretty context, and, finally, a pretty song. Toni Cornell wrote the song 'Far Away Places' when she was just 12 (she turned 15 on Wednesday). Chris Cornell produced it for his daughter, as one of the last songs he will record before his death in May 2017, Billboard reports. It is featured in a […]
