20 iconic festival sets, Guardian's choice

There were no festivals this summer to report from, so the Guardian looked back to make a list of 20 most iconic festivals, going back six decades. The earliest is Jimi Hendrix performing at Monterey Pop in 1967 - "this is peak Hendrixosity, a live performance that has probably never been bettered", and the latest being Beyoncé's performance at Coachella 2018, a - "superhuman desert session".
