A great read in Mel magazine about t.A.T.u., the Russian band from the early 2000s that featured lesbian identity and image. Lena Katina and Julia Volkova weren't then, and aren't now lesbians (both are married to men), but that project (guided by a psychologist) sparked a cultural shift in their anti-gay nation.
