Alternate version of David Bowie’s 'The Man Who Sold the World' released on his 73rd birthday
Parlophone Records has shared a previously unreleased version of David Bowie's 'The Man Who Sold the World' yesterday on what would have been singer's 73rd birthday. The largely acoustic rendition, recorded in November of 1996, was aired a few months later on Bowie's 50th birthday. 'The Man...' is 50 years young this year, and it is the first track from 'Is It Any Wonder?' digital-only EP, featuring five other tracks, with each one rolling out weekly. The next one comes out January 17th. This version of 'The Man Who Sold the World' will also be on a nine-track limited edition 'ChangesNowBowie' LP due out on April 18, Esquire reports. This week, graphic novel 'BOWIE: Stardust, Rayguns, & Moonage Daydreams' also came out, as Syfy Wire reported. It’s written by Michael Allred and Steve Horton, illustrated by Laura Allred, and includes a foreword by Neil Gaiman. It chronicles the rise of Bowie’s career from obscurity to fame; and paralleled by the rise and fall of his alter ego as well as the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust.
