Record sales of vinyls in the US - nearly a million in a week

A record number of 973,000 vinyl LPs was sold in the USA in week ending Dec. 19, marking the single biggest week for vinyl album sales since Nielsen Music began electronically tracking music sales in 1991. Vinyl album sales were so hot in the week ending Dec. 19, they comprised 25% of all albums sold that week (3.92 million across all formats: CD, LP, digital, cassette, etc.), and 31% of all physical albums sold (3.16 million on CD, LP, cassette, etc.). The three biggest-selling albums were Harry Styles' 'Fine Line' (sold in 28.000 copies), Billie Eilish’s 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?' (12,000), and The Beatles’ 'Abbey Road' (11,000).
