Kanye West debuts new opera, 'Mary', covered in silver

Kanye West staged his sophomore opera, 'Mary', at the Miami Marine Stadium as part of the final day of Art Basel on Sunday, with him covered fully in silver, Pitchfork reports. The opera tells the Christmas nativity story through Gospel arrangements of Kanye’s own songs, including 'Devil in a New Dress', 'Love Lockdown', and 'Power', as well as more traditional Christmas songs like 'Holly Night' and 'Drummer Boy'. Both West and his entire Sunday Service gospel choir were covered, from head-to-toe, in silver, and the opera’s aquatic location made it accessible only via motorboat. 'Mary' is his second opera, last month he 'Nebuchadnezzar' in Los Angeles. Critics didn't really like it.
