Orville Peck: There is a temptation to try and unmask what I do, but to do so would be to miss the point entirely

He is finishing his European tour, in his regular outfit - cowboy clothes and a mask (there's information about his real identity on the internet, even photos, but why ruin a good character). Inspiration for it came from Dolly Parton - a “cheerful girl from the mountains who couldn’t catch a break”, although his music is more in the vein of Johnny Cash. He is indeed behind a mask, but as he told the New Yorker - "I truly believe this project is the most sincere thing I’ve done artistically, the most exposed that I’ve ever been as a singer, as a writer, as an artist”
