Neil Young’s US citizenship delayed because of marijuana - he "may lack Good Moral Character"

Neil Young has been living in the US for most of his life, has been trying to become an American for some time now, but he is still only a Canadian citizen, Stereogum reports. The latest occasion when he applied for US citizenship there was a delay in the process because his use of marijuana may indicate a lack of GMC, or “Good Moral Character”. To prove he has good moral character, Young has to take another test to show he’s a good guy with weed. In other drugs-musicians related news, The Associated Press reports Pete Doherty (The Libertines, Babyshambles, etc) has been arrested in Paris for allegedly buying cocaine. After being released he got arrested again - Doherty went out drinking in his pyjamas post-detainment and was allegedly seen in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood fighting with a 19-year-old male, Guardian reports. Doherty will spend the month of December in Europe, playing shows.
