Slowthai makes a new song with Mura Masa ‘Deal Wiv It’, about fame
Producer Mura Masa unveiled 'Deal Wiv It', an up-beat and raw news song with Slowthai on the microphone. The video for it, released yesterday, shows Slowthai getting out of an apartment ("Fighting with my sisters in the house/She's on the couch, she don't move much"), running about in slow-motion outside a housing estate ("I see my mate sat in my mate's/And they wanna say 'safe'/They say 'you've changed'/Fuck, deal with it") before he jumps into a convertible with Mura Masa. The track will come out on Mura Masa's second album 'R.Y.C. (Raw Youth Collage)' set for release January 17. The video was shot in Belgrade, just like album's lead single, 'No Hope Generation', Broadway World reports. The album features a variety of guests including Clairo, Slowthai, Tirzah, Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice, Georgia and Mura Masa himself stepping out as lead-vocalist. Mura Masa, 23-year-old songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Crossan, grew up on the tiny, remote British isle of Guernsey. His music pays homage to and inverts new wave, punk, folk and 90s rave, thoroughly investigating nostalgia as a concept. hm
