Tegan and Sara offer pay-what-you-can tickets
At last night's show in San Francisco, Tegan and Sara offered their "real fans" pay-what-you-can tickets, after hundreds of tickets ended up on secondary platforms, Billboard reported. "We never ask our fans to go to secondary sites, this will likely result in empty seats tonight in the Sydney Goldstein Theater” - the band said, so as an "experiment", they offered rush seating for all open seats, starting at approximately 8:15 p.m. Fans who made pay-what-you-can cash donations at the door to The Tegan and Sara Foundation - the band’s charity which supports LGBTQ+ girls and women - could get access to empty seats on a first-come-first-serve basis. The band estimated there were approximately 200 those seats. They might do this again on their current tour, at sold-out shows.
