Promising new band Saudade - featuring members of Deftones, Bad Brains, Cro-Mags and Weather Report

It includes Chino Moreno (Deftones), Dr. Know (Bad Brains), Mackie Jayson (Cro-Mags), John Medeski, Robert Thomas Jr. (Weather Report), with the head of the band being Chuck Doom, a longtime Moreno collaborator and a former protege of famed jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius, Stereogum reports. The rest of the core lineup includes John Medeski (Medeski Martin & Wood), David Torn (David Bowie, The Bad Plus, John Legend), and Gil Sharone (Marilyn Manson, Dillinger Escape Plan). Their first release will be 'Shadows & Light / Sanctuary Dub' EP (out later this year), including the recently released 'Shadows & Light' (vocals by Moreno and Chelsea Wolfe), a new song called 'Sanctuary Dub' (featuring two members of industrial rap group Ho99o9), and a jazz-metal number 'Crisis' (listen below). Saudade say they will "continue to invite vocalists and musicians to participate in their collective throughout 2020 and will be releasing the collaborations as they progress towards a full body of work".
