Powerful - Lumineers tell a story about addiction on new album and movie
American folk-rock band The Lumineers have a 44-minute visual accompaniment to the group’s new album, which starkly explores three generations of a fictional working class family - the Sparks - in the American Northeast as they deal with addiction and other dysfunction, Billboard reports. Both the album and the movie are named 'III', with three chapters in the film corresponding with the album's 10 tracks. The movie is based on a story written by Lumineers singer and guitarist Wesley Schultz and drummer Jeremiah Fraites, about a member of Schultz’s family, whose addiction led her to rehab, jail, and homelessness. Addiction also affected Fraites, who himself has been sober for four years, but lost his brother, Josh, to a drug overdose in 2001. Watch Part 1 of 10 below.
