Stereogum's Album of the Week: Vivian Girls 'Memory' - "heartsick, and struggling, and strong"

'Memory' is first Vivian Girls album in eight years, the first since the band members all moved from New York to Los Angeles, "from a city with constant motion to a city defined by static sun", and the "band is as good as they ever were, and maybe even a little better". Stereogum chose it as their newest Album of the Week, describing it as "gloomy and compressed, trading out the deafening roar of the subway for sinking palm trees and an eerie stillness", with production "dynamically muddy, texturally dense".
