A new tape changes the Beatles history

British historian Mark Lewisohn, one of the world's leading authorities on the Beatles, played a tape to a Guardian journalist of a meeting held 50 years ago containing a disagreement that sheds new light on Beatles' breakup. It was "common knowledge" that the Beatles knew 'Abbey Road' was their last album and they wanted to go out on an artistic high, but on that tape they talk about an another album, and perhaps a single for release in time for Christmas. Lewisohn made a new stage show 'Hornsey Road' where uses tape, film, photographs, new audio mixes of the music and his own matchless fund of anecdotes and memorabilia to tell the story of 'Abbey Road', that final burst of collective invention.
