South African driver - from singing in his car to opera fame

Menzi Mngoma is a 27 year old musicology graduate, who was full time Uber driver and loved singing opera tunes to his passengers, when a Kim Davey, who was on a business trip from Johannesburg filmed him and posted a clip on Facebook (here). The video of Mngoma singing Verdi's 'La donna è mobile' in his taxi went viral - it has had more than 660,000 views. Mngoma has now auditioned for Cape Town Opera, is currently recording a single and has been invited to perform at the second annual South Africa Author's Awards in Johannesburg on 31 July. Until that works out - he's still working as an Uber driver, BBC reports.
