Faith No More’s Mike Patton and French Composer Jean-Claude Vannier make an album

Mike Patton of Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantomas and Dead Cross has announced a new album with Jean-Claude Vannier, the French composer and producer best known for his work on Serge Gainsbourg’s 'Histoire de Melody Nelson', the Quietus. The duo will release its debut collaboration 'Corpse Flower' on September 13 via Ipecac. “I would send Mike rough versions of the songs to get his thoughts, then I’d wait impatiently, staring at the clock, until I received his response. He made my music awaken with his unique perspective and interpretations of my songs. A formidable vocalist, with a sense of humour, Mike and I created a strong, beautiful and sincere collection of music, as well as a friendship” Vannier said. The line-up of musicians who worked on the album includes Smokey Hormel (Johnny Cash), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Nine Inch Nails) and James Gadson (Beck, Jamie Lidell), Bernard Paganotti (Magma) and the Bécon Palace String Ensemble.
