Folk singer Sam Lee: Birds love cellos and flutes

Guardian has a nice story, happy-afternoon-movie type, about an English folk singer Sam Lee who is trying -
and succeeding - to save birds. He goes into the night with shruti box – the instrument used by Indian musicians to create drone effects – and sings to nightingales: “They love the harmonics. They love cellos and flutes and folk songs – but not guitars or singer-songwriters”. He was also part of a project by Royal Society for the Protection of Birds who made a single 'Let Nature Sing' with vocals by endangered birds, and which reached No 18 in the British charts this month. On Lee's new album "there will be turtle doves”. It’s called 'Old Wow', the name he gives to the power of nature.
