Neil Young, Fiona Apple, Josh Homme and Norah Jones on 'Echo in the Canyon' soundtrack
Laurel Canyon was a centre of counterculture activity in the mid-late 1960s and early 1970s - it was home to Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, The Eagles, Love, Neil Young, The Monkees - and it is the subject of new documentary 'Echo in the Canyon'. It features in-depth interviews with many of the musicians that made Laurel Canyon a cultural epicenter - Tom Petty (his last interview), Brian Wilson, Eric Clapton, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne, Michelle Phillips, Ringo Starr, and more, Pitchfork reports. It comes with a soundtrack featuring music by Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Beck, Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Josh Homme, Neil Young, and Jade Castrinos who covered Mamas & The Papas' 'Go Where You Wanna Go' - listen to that one here.
