Rapper stays in jail for lyric "Let’s kill these cops"

Rapper Jamal Knox was arrested by a pair of Pittsburgh police officers seven years ago on gun and drug charges. Knox, who goes by the stage name Mayhem Mal, later wrote a song called 'F*ck the Police', which mentioned those same two officers by name and featured lines “Let’s kill these cops cuz they don’t do us no good”. Those lyrics got him and a fellow co-writer convicted and sentenced two to six years of jail on charges of terroristic threats and witness intimidation. Knox has repeatedly appealed the 2014 conviction, arguing that 'F*ck the Police' counts as free speech protected by the First Amendment, but yesterday the US Supreme Court declined to review the case, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
